IDEAL BEGINNERS PONY - fine-tuned for top dressage but also, she is the most perfect, biddable easily ridden pony ideal for PC and a beginner rider. She behaves so perfectly and is not at all concerned about what other ponies are doing even if they gallop off in front of her.
This pony will do whatever is asked of her and is the most perfect Ribbon Day winner.
Very diligent and trustworthy. She can happily be ridden anywhere including to the beach bareback and in a halter.
She will jump, spars etc and low-level show jumping.
Introducing Ty Gwyn Riviera, affectionately known as “Rivvy” – a rare opportunity to purchase a beautifully schooled, gorgeous, kind-natured, and quality-bred 13.1hh Welsh mare with an impressive dressage record.

Rivvy is a 12-year-old flaxen chestnut purebred Welsh Pony by Mithril Glenfiddich out of Llandovery Doodah, bred by Dianne Kimpton.

We purchased Rivvy unbroken as a 6-year-old from Dianne, sight unseen, due to our love for her ponies and our dream to ‘collect them all.’ Originally a project pony, Rivvy quickly proved herself to be talented, willing, and hard-working – and became my daughter’s dressage partner for six wonderful years. Over that time, she progressed to Medium level (Level 4), most recently competing in the Dressage Pony of the Year at HOY 2025.

Rivvy has achieved many successes through the grades, including:
• Winner – North Island 12 & Under Series Championship
• Champion – 12 & Under, U25 Nationals
• Reserve Champion – Elementary, U25 Nationals
• Multiple Champion and Reserve Champion titles at Premier League events, including
• Medium Bronze Champion at Wairarapa Dressage Champs 2025 (against hacks and ponies)

Rivvy is extremely trainable and versatile. A former Olympian once commented that she was "wasted on dressage" after watching her jump! She shows excellent potential as a show hunter or pleasure pony, and her full sister is a safe and capable hunter.

She has spent the past three years based at Nga Tawa School, so she is well accustomed to a busy environment. Rivvy is a pleasure to take out – calm at shows, easy to handle, and a dream to hack out both alone and in company. She has done extensive beach and farm hacking, has no dirt, and does not get buddy-bound.

Rivvy would suit a young rider ready to step up from a first ridden pony and looking to compete in dressage, show hunter, or pleasure pony classes. She is well-schooled, sound, reliable, and a joy to have around – a true best friend who thrives on attention.

This lovely mare is offered for sale only because her rider has outgrown her and is transitioning to hacks. She has been dearly loved and carefully produced, and we are looking for a special home where she will be just as cherished and where her talents can continue to shine.
