We are offering Hollybank Moonshadow ("Shadow") for sale as her riders legs won’t stop growing. She has been an absolute pleasure to bring on, and we know she has an exciting future ahead with her next rider. Shes an exceptionally sweet and sensible little mare with beautiful movement, her nature is second to none with a fabulous brain to boot.

We purchased Shadow three years ago directly from Hollybank Stud, where she was lightly started as a three-year-old. She began her career successfully in-hand, collecting numerous wides along the way with her well balanced confirmation.

🌟 Outstanding Competitive Mount 🌟
This season (2024/25) has been her first full ridden season, and she has taken everything in her stride. She’s a quick learner, a lovely mover and has an exceptionally trainable brain. She’s currently schooling L2 dressage with the beginnings of lateral work and her flying changes becoming established. She is schooled professionally by an adult alongside my son so her progress has been leaps and bounds. She also has a lovely straight action over a jump and could make a quality Cat A SH with her balanced rhythm and competitive ability.

Despite being her first season, Shadow is already making a name for herself in the ring with her gorgeous presence:
✅ HOY Qualified this season in multiple sections (Junior Rider 11 & Under, Rising Star Pony, Open Show Pony, Paced & Mannered)
✅ 5 Champions, 6 Reserve Champions & a Supreme Champion in her first two A&P Shows
✅ SJ Placings in almost every start and comfortably schooling up to ~85cm Show Jumping & 65cm Cross Country
✅ Placed 2nd and 4th at North Island Secondary Schools Dressage last week

Shadow is calm and reliable at shows happy hacking out alone or in company. She is unspoiled and easy to handle in every way.

We’d love to see her in an experienced home, out competing. She is sensible and forgiving enough for a First Ridden rider with clear aids and independent hands who wants to step into the show ring with a pony that can take them far, especially with an older sibling who can hop on and continue her schooling.
