Red is that super cool schoolmaster, a confidence booster for kids wanting to be competitive across all disciplines.

Red is kind and willing and does it all with no fuss and zero dirt, he’ll happily work in all 3 paces with a lovely consistent rhythm. He carries himself in a beautiful, natural frame and is responsive to aids – zero nap.

Of the 3 dressage tests they have done, he has won all of them, he has buttons installed and works happily between beginners and kids with more experience. He has also received Champion Pony in every ribbon day we have entered, is nippy in the SJ ring, had placings in SH and won 2 of the 3 mini ODE’s we have entered, coming 4th in the other. He is a well put together, handsome boy with a gentle, giving nature. He is that perfect pony in between coming off leid rein and the bigger heights pony, for that child who is still establishing their seat but is keen to keep progressing – he’ll take that wee rider so far, just as he has done for us.

He jumps up to 70cm, is a wicked games pony with the quickest flying changes, beautifully mannered at shows and PC remaining calm and relaxed even when there are ponies flying around next to him. Great out hacking, at the beach, relaxed being tied up on his own at the float, easy and very well-mannered on the ground.

Red is safe and sound and well looked after and we want to see him go to a knowledgeable, kind home where he’ll be out and about competing and having fun, he loves having a job to do, he deserves this, he’s a very special pony. Red prefers a child with soft, giving hands rather than one who tends to become tense through the rein.

My son has outgrown Red and won’t get another season on him, so very sadly, we’re looking to move onto the next size up. We knew our time with him was going to be relatively short as my son is 10yrs (and growing like a beanstalk) but he was that very important, little gem he needed at that stage of his riding, to get him through to the bigger, ‘more pony’, pony that he can now manage - Red has taught him so much!

We have been competing all winter, so he’s fit and ready to go for the season ahead.

*He needs a home where access to grass will be carefully managed (we’re located an hour north of Auckland where we get a lot of growth / seasonal flushes - he can get grass affected if left unmanaged).
