We purchased Roany 15 months ago as a project pony for my then 11-year-old daughter to produce as a mini prix pony with untapped potential. She is honest and able to jump anything from anywhere, including fills as she is brave and smart. She was beautifully schooled by one of New Zealand’s top riders for three months and her jumping potential assessed. She has the cutest jump with great scope and hardly touches rails. She is always commented on and we believe with the right rider she will compete mini prix as she has schooled at this level. Competed up to 1m due to the show environment being all new to her and we produce our ponies slowly and carefully as we focus on their confidence and long-term wellbeing.

My daughter is now at boarding school and doesn’t have enough time to give her the focus and attention she deserves. Only selling as we have made the hard decision to sell some of her ponies and focus on one. We would love to see her out competing and using her potential to excel with her next rider. Although she was originally bought for Show Jumping, she has such lovely movement and works beautifully on the flat and corrects herself with her impressive flying changes. She has done extensive farm hacking, hunting, CTR, pony club, games, derby/ hunter and the show jumping 23/24 circuit.

She is a real all rounder and would excel at pleasure, eventing, all types of hunter and show jumping. We recently took her to a CTR event and she didn’t look at anything and didn’t break a sweat, she absolutely loves hacking.

In true Gizzy style, she is low maintenance and has always been sound. She is great to handle, used to small children, other animals and is super easy and fun to have around. Roany has no major vices but requires a strong younger rider as she can have a sassy side but she is easily put back into place as she hates being told off. Best suited as a second pony. All the tools are in place and the hard work has been done. As she has only been competing for a year, she needs a competent young rider to take her to the top.
