East Coast pony - bred in Ruatoria by Tony Holden he was late gelded and late started. Since being with us he has been taken back to basics and carefully produced with lots of groundwork, desensitization, fitness work, schooling in flatwork, and jumping with outings for experience. Is ESNZ registered and ready to compete the rest of the season.

Bear is a chunky pony with a quiet, gentle nature, he has a floaty trot, big movement, and is well-balanced.

He is a bold jumper with fabulous knees and style over a fence. Is the sire of the PGP Ngahiwi Roany Pony, who is very well known and successful in competition, proving he has genes with natural ability and scope.

Bear is a great NZ-bred multi-discipline pony but could easily focus on one and excel. Saddle Hunter, Pleasure Pony, Working Hunter, RTR, Pony Club, Show Hunter, up to Mini Prix SJ and Hunter.

Sadly, Bear lost his near side eye in a shocking paddock accident. But it has actually been the making of him. He has to trust his rider 100%, and he has been going out kicking butt showjumping in the Waikato!

Whilst Bear has had many smaller and inexperienced kids ride him. We would prefer him with an experienced teen and competition home where he can take someone up the heights safely or focus on one discipline.

Low in the pecking order, he gets bullied (always has) he is a quiet soul, so we paddock him alone or with like-minded horses.

Excellent to catch, rug, wash, clip, for farrier, dentist, truck, and to handle in every way.

Feb 2024. Just finished being ridden by two professional riders. Both families highly recommend Bear as a confidence builder and all-rounder.

In Cambridge until the end of March 2024. Then he will be brought down to Wanganui.
