Pony for sale

Scotch is an 8 yo black bush pony gelding, home measured at about 14.1hh. Last year he started his competitive career with 65cm eventing starts, and lots of pony club events including SH, SJ, dressage, gymkhanas with a 10 year old beginner rider. Scotch is complemented wherever he goes for his amazing paces and scopey jump. He is schooling to 95cm cross country, 90cm in showjumping and working at L2/3 in dressage. He has had his first 80cm eventing start and was leading after the dressage but rider forgot a fence. He is competing at L2 dressage in unregistered shows. He is more than ready to start competing at higher levels and will easily make a top competition mount.

Scotch has a very scopey, honest jump, and gives jumps plenty of clearance – for that reason he needs a rider with a bit of experience jumping so he doesn’t jump them out the saddle. He has had a season hunting with Taupo Hunt but was taken quietly to educate him well for the future. Scotch can be ridden on the buckle end.

Scotch is happy to be paddocked alone or with company. He is barefoot – just because he has very good hard feet. He is good for dentist, farrier and clipping. Has been sheath cleaned. We have only ever travelled him on a truck, but he loads well onto floats. He is an excellent traveller. He stands happily at the truck, and is easy to yard overnight at shows.

Scotch is an easy pony to have around. He is very safe, and very used to children. This is an exceptionally hard sale as he is the stable favourite. Only for sale as our children are off ponies now due to height and age. We would love to see him go to a fabulous new home where he can absolutely shine.
