Pony for sale

This stunningly beautiful boy is offered for sale to an experienced home who can continue to build on his training and development. Disco was performance bred by Rosehill Sporthorses and is by the well known Grand Prix dressage pony Hilkens Denali out of an arab mare.

He has three lovely correct paces with the canter being his standout. He is very forward moving and supple, working off light aids and is very responsive to all seat and weight aids. He is currently working nicely at prelim to novice level (L1/2) with leg yield and shoulder-in well established and all the other lateral work underway at different stages. He loves to work, tries very hard to please and is very intelligent picking up new exercises and movements quickly. He has developed a nice correct frame over the last year and now happily works into the bridle. He loves to get out and has enjoyed riding down our quiet road and on the farm. While I haven’t done any real jumping with him, his previous owner have had him jumping comfortably over 80 cm.

Disco is an incredibly sweet boy and a lot of fun. He thrives in consistent work with lots of variety. He was bred for dressage and enjoys flatwork but would excel in any type of performance sport. Prior to me purchasing him last year, he has been in and out of spelling with short periods of work for most of his life so he is very low mileage for his age but it does mean he is very green. He has had very little exposure out so can be tense and looky in new environments. Over the summer months he has had several successful outings at a local show, endurance ride and dressage ribbon day. He loved the endurance ride, finishing fourth in the 20 km ride at Matahiwi in just over 2 hours and vetted before/after in the 40s for his heart rate. He coped well riding through cows and sheep, through a creek and under the running dairy farm pivot irrigator.

He has great feet and is well behaved for the farrier (both shod and trimming) and to worm. He has been paddocked on his own and with others and is good to ride out with other horses and by himself.

Due to being so green, Disco is not suitable for a younger child and would better suit a confident older child/teenager or adult who has the experience to finish shaping him into a well rounded and confident horse.

This in an incredibly difficult sale due to my health and the need to sell my horses. He will be sold with his rugs and bridle while his beautiful custom made Black Country dressage saddle will also be available to purchase. Updated video is available.
