I'm one of the many Adult Amateur Event riders who balance their work and home life (and bank account) enough to ride and compete.

It's not often easy but its worth the late nights at the office and sometime being in the "dog house" with your hubby ;).

I'm lucky to keep my horses at home and even luckier to have a hubby who can help when work has me traveling or work late..also a group of friends who pitch in too.

I'm a transplated British Architect working full time for Architectural firm in Fort Worth Texas..and live with my Hubby Anthony.. 3 horse, 2 dogs, 3 barn cats and 3 house cats.

I grow up in Oxfordshire riding at local Stables..I rode anything and everything ..I got to Show Jump, Event,Fox Hunt, Team Chase, Pony Club events, Gymkhanas, Pony Racing, you name it I had a go..But Eventing is my passion and horses are my obsessions (according to my Husband ;)).

Three horses are Jericho's Gold (Jeri) retired intermediate/2** appendix QH mare 17hh who is now 21yrs..brought her cowboy broken and trainer through the levels.

Chasing Liberty (Toby) off the track Appenix QH who was a "project" horse while Jeri was pregnant.. He is a "rock" from knowing nothing to Advance/2** horse ..from almost lossing him through a liver virus to horse trailer accident that left hm falling out on road and galloping across on coming traffic..this horse is toughest sweatest chap out..obident in Dressage ..XC machine and less than prefect Show Jumper but will jump or do anything you ask..he now is retired from Eventing due to Navicular Sysdrome but still able to ride.

Windrush (Chloe) my home bred (Jericho's Gold/ Just a Devil)..she is like a sports car ..loads of power once it's all warmed up..I was there to help when she was born (at home) and broke her in myself...we've had good time and some not so good...but now we sorted ourselfs out and ready to get back to it.

As I've just taken a year of missing USEA Events due to a blow ACL which I got replaced in Jan this year. beginning of October at Greenwood Farms HT I'll finally be back out their again competiting..

.yey...( even if it is only Novice ) until now we've become somewhat of DQs but it been time wellspent, you can never get enough Dressage as Eventer.

For all those out there who are Amateurs or are those recovery from injury or surgery, keep at it and good luck.
