Lynn Copplestone

16-Sep-2015

My name is Lynn Copplestone.
Having lived in New Zealand for twenty five years I returned to the country of my birth in 2012.

In New Zealand I was an avid supporter of all things equestrian. from running my daughter, Tara Copplestone's Eventing yard - Star Ridge - to becoming an equine massage therapist and being one of the team involved in trying to gain recognition for a complete and holistic equestrian industry.

I have been an avid supporter of many equestrian initiatives and sports as a volunteer. I have keenly supported the schools equestrian programme initiative (Thank you Kay Hogan), pony club, eventing, dressage, showjumping, international mounted games and the RDA.

I also supported my local training establishment - Abderry - as a regular volunteer, stewarding at their midweek training competitions.

I firmly believe that the basis of any successful sport is a very strong grass roots programme.

Grass roots and retaining a strong supportive membership is the life blood needed for the longevity and success and programmes of this nature need to be in place and keenly supported to nurture an inclusive membership.

I am now involved in the UK. as a volunteer at the RDA, Have worked at a number of Musketeer Events including Houghton, Burnham Market and, Chomdley Castle. I have also been in race control at Smiths Lawn and a crossing Steward at Barbury Castle.,

My daughter had ridden horses for Clifton Eventers, We owned and trained many including Clifton Ali, Clifton Pinot, Clifton Drummer. Tara also owned and trained At The Limit, Takn care o business, Blue with Envy, Magic Deal such an amazing equine team..

It all started with Justa Gentleman.... Thank you Jimmy - who was 40 years young when he passed away just before our move to the UK.

If you are a New Zealand equestrian coming to the UK... I am very happy to assist if I can. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

I miss my Tangata Whenua, hope to return soon :)
