I am 46 years and own Omega Stud in the Bay of Islands, NZ.  I have been riding since 10 years old.  I never had the chance to ride ponies and was always on whatever horse my dad had the chance to swap a panelbeating job for.  Consequently I learn't to ride on hacks; one being gelded only when he was to come and live at our property!  I trialled him as a 5 year old stallion and fell in love.  He was an Anglo Arab named Sheik.  I discovered my great seat by riding bareback until I could save for a saddle which took a couple of years.

Inevitably when starting work in a big city I had to give up horses for a while but the bug never left me.  In my twenties I discovered dressage on a beauty named Lord Byron who was trained to Grand Prix Dressage level and I had the good fortune to find a fabulous teacher and eventually bought him just to enjoy and learn the movements.

As my career involves weekend work I have never been able to compete to a high level, but over the years my interest in classical dressage grew and I bought a spectacular Holsteiner mare Stellar Miss Universe, and with her fantastic bloodlines, started my career of breeding Sporthorses.  From this mare we bred our current stallion standing at stud Lucero Omega.  He is by the Grand Prix Dressage stallion Landioso (imp Holsteiner by Landgraf) and I currently ride and train him myself.  We are yet to compete, but that day will come.  I also have great pleasure in doing inhand sporthorse competitions with his youngstock.

The pinnacle of our success so far was winning the NZ Horse of the Year  2015 NZ Performance Bred Sporthorse  - Leilani Omega a daughter by(Lucero/Oldenburg).
