About Me

17-Aug-2015

I was born and raised in Hunua, and I still live there now. I have had the privilege of growing up on a farm with a big family surrounded by animals. I've been riding horses since I was 3 years old, being introduced to it by my mum when she bought me my first pony. I rode all through my primary and high school years, representing my high school and travelling the country following Eventing competitions. I continued riding when I began studying Nursing in 2011. Studying full time and riding full time became hecticly busy, but I made it work with the help of my mum who exercised my horses when I was occupied with Nursing.

I unfortunately was unable to continue riding as it wasn't fair to have a horse but not be able to commit 100%, so when I am all qualified I will definitely go back to it. Unfortunately we had to make the incredibly heart breaking decision to put Apple down, she had become a real part of the family, but I still look forward to finding a new one to bring up through the levels. Although studying and working at the same time is hard work, I could not think of anything else I'd rather be doing. I graduate in November, and I look forward to embarking on a new career that I love!
