Regal is an exceptional horse, embodying the best qualities of both European Warmblood and New Zealand thoroughbred lines, with a pedigree rooted in performance and temperament. Carefully bred for modern eventing, his lineage combines elite European bloodlines from Cevin Z (Billy Stud UK) —renowned for his international achievements and remarkable temperament—and the Holsteiner stallion Lansing, a foundation sire for Grand Prix jumpers. His New Zealand TB side from his 3 star eventing Grandmother Abberose, adds Aberlou, arguably the nation’s most celebrated eventing Thoroughbred stallion, whose powerful back end and agility are imprinted in Regal, alongside In The Purple, a TB stallion famous for his elevated trot and bold jump.

Produced by a dedicated boutique breeder, Regal has received individual care, giving him a strong foundation without the over-conditioning. Standing at 16hh, he is a 4yr powerhouse—athletic, intelligent, and highly responsive. His build and presence are akin to those found in top European auctions, but with the added versatility and stamina of his New Zealand TB line, making him an ideal candidate for both Eventing and Show Jumping.

Since his careful breaking in last January, Regal has been introduced to a balanced range of activities to stimulate his mind and build confidence. His training has emphasised positive, varied experiences, from hacking through creeks and open country canters, to outings at clubs and exploring friends’ farms. He’s been thoughtfully developed without excessive schooling and only low natural jumps, ensuring he remains eager, focused, and ready to progress. We have fun together, nothing serious.

Regal is now prepared to take the next step in his training with a skilled, ambitious rider who understands the commitment needed to bring a horse to top-level. Although originally bred as a future project for my daughter, he’s a few years early for her, and we believe his best path lies with someone who can fully develop his potential now.
