Chester has been shown in hand over the past 3 years and has multiple champions in this discipline,
I backed Chester myself a year ago and have gradually introduced him to this quietly and carefully over
this time to build him a happy and willing attitude towards being ridden. Chester has been to a professional for ground handling initially and I have continued this at home. Since being ridden, Chester has
had 2 weeks schooling with a professional who has started polishing him for his showing career. He
will spend a final 6 weeks with them at the end of July 2024 to be ready for the coming ridden show
season. Chester can be viewed in Ashburton during this time.
Chester is not a a beginner's horse, nor is he a first-time young horse owner. It is essential that he goes to
an experienced owner who has the ability and knowledge to take this young horse into his next phase of
riding. Chester IS top show ring quality and has the presence and ability to take someone to HOY next
year. He is striking and his charisma is noticed at every show he's at.
Chester is great to ride and is quiet. He has No buck or bolt in him and
thrives off lots of work and learns quickly. He responds perfectly to kind
and direct instruction and will do what you ask of him willingly.
Chester relies on the trust he has with his human and requires this
security to continue building his own confidence. He's not dependent on
other horses. Chester requires further mileage under saddle at shows
however, he has been to many shows over the last few years in hand, so
is very familiar with the scene.
Chester will only be sold to an approved, experienced home that is
wanting their next top show horse.
