Pony for sale

Whistledown QT – 128cm Purebred Welsh Section B

Beautifully bred by Crestwood Austin Powers out of Glendale Biscuit, QT was born in December 2017. She has been part of our family since arriving from stud, and we started her under saddle. All three of our children have had the opportunity to ride and educate her.

QT has enjoyed huge success in the show ring. She is a Champion Lead Rein, FYR and Open Show Pony, and this season she achieved Supreme Show Pony and Supreme P&M in her very first show. She is a multi-champion Welsh in-hand pony and has placed at HOY Welsh on several occasions.

QT has stunning, floaty movement, excellent straight conformation and a lovely forward way of going. She is beautifully suited to the show ring and would also be a lovely prospect for a child wanting to develop their dressage. She is ridden in a snaffle on the flat and has enjoyed two seasons of jumping, including show hunter at HOY, giving her a varied and interesting education. She particularly loves cross-country training! While jumping is not her primary discipline, she can be enthusiastic and strong over fences, with some impressive leaps, so she is best suited to a balanced, confident jockey. She is jumped in a Pelham. QT has attended several kids camps.

QT is a delight to have in our team and, while she comes pretty close, like all ponies, she isn’t perfect! She can be spooky with lots of new show hunter fill, prefers her riders not to wear long flapping rain jackets, and although she is not typically grass-affected, she can be fresh on lush spring grass when first coming into work after a winter turnout. We know her well and want to find her the perfect home where her strengths will be appreciated and she can continue to shine.

On the ground, QT is a sweetheart. She genuinely loves people, is not mareish, and is lovely to handle, float, truck, trim, wash and clip. She is easy to manage and lives in grass paddocks year-round. She has never been lame and has only required veterinary attention for her annual vaccinations.

With our riders moving away from showing, QT is very sadly offered for sale. We would love to find her a special, forever home where she will be loved and continue to receive the very best care and attention.

QT would be best suited to a family looking for a quality show pony, with the opportunity to enjoy dressage and the occasional jumping adventure along the way. Her ideal home would be one where a young rider and pony can take their time building a partnership, develop together and enjoy the success and fun we have been so fortunate to experience with her. She has been a very special part of our family, and finding the right home where she will be loved and receive the very best care is very important to us.
