Fonzy is a lovely 6-year-old, 13.1hh flaxen chestnut mare who is looking for a confident young rider and family to continue her education and give her a job.

Fonzy is a green but exceptionally sensible pony with a fantastic temperament. She is more woah than go, and is forgiving, responsive and willing. Despite being only 6, she has the temperament and attitude of a much older pony.

She has been ridden in a wide variety of environments including roads, rivers, water, beaches, forests and farms. She is excellent away from home and in open spaces and is unfazed by cattle, sheep, deer and heavy farm machinery. She is happy riding alone or in a group and is a very straightforward pony in new environments.

Fonzy is currently jumping around 60cm. She has a bold jumping style and good technique, although she does need plenty of leg and encouragement from her rider. She has also been exposed to small cross-country fences and has plenty of potential to develop into a lovely low-level, show jumping, eventing or pony club pony. I can also see her being an amazing pony for a younger kid living rurally on a farm and just wanting a super safe, reliable pony.

On the ground, Fonzy is an absolute dream. She is good to catch, lead, tie, groom, wash and handle, and is good for the farrier. She is barefoot and very easy to have around.

She would suit a gutsy, confident young rider or someone with experienced parents/help who can be firm, consistent and continue her education. She is safe with a range of riders and has been ridden by beginner children who are still learning. She would particularly suit a confident child who can put their leg on and encourage her forward. She has the potential to make a lovely pony for the right rider.

Fonzy can be hesitant when loading onto the float and will need further work in this area, although she does ultimately load and travels well.

Fonzy is being offered for sale as her owners do not have enough time to continue producing her, and they do not want her sitting in the paddock when she could be out doing a job.

She does have a medical finding that I'm happy to discuss in detail with potential buyers.
