Hayley Morris' Success Story
iSpyHorses -- Thu, 09-Aug-2018
WHEN DID YOU MOVE TO AUSTRALIA? WHICH HORSES DID YOU TAKE? AND WHY DID YOU MOVE THERE?
I moved to AUS in 2013 with my young rider horse Livewire II. He was an OTTB who I won the Melbourne World Cup Show Young Rider class on.
I was working for Ross and Mel Smith in NZ and they decided to relocate to AUS. Mel is an Aussie, and there is so much more business and competition opportunity here so it made sense for them to come home on many levels. I considered it to be an awesome opportunity to relocate with them and have never....

Teeth Are Always In Fashion

Teeth Are Always in Fashion
And on this note, Cambridge Equine Hospital offers top quality dental care for your horse. Did you know that a horse's teeth constantly erupt throughout their life. Most horses are not eating tough grass for 16 – 18 hours per day anymore and therefore their teeth get abnormal wear patterns. Some teeth erupt faster than others necessitating regular filing. Horses are living much longer than they would in the wild, so nowadays their teeth won't always last for a lifetime. Older horses....

Horses kick, horses bite and yes, horses can kill us...
Chief -- Fri, 02-Mar-2018
Horses kick, horses bite and yes, horses can kill us. I have been asked to blog about a recent experience of mine that left me in a bit of a bad way, due to a good old double barrel to the pelvis.
I have worked with horses for over 30 years and in many cases I work with horses who are extremely aggressive towards people due to the treatment they have received from people in the past.
On December 6th last year, I was in the wrong place, at the wrong time with a horse who had been beautifully raised from a foal by caring owners. She was momentarily frustrated and confused and she made a poor choice. I say she....

Always take your riding clobber
Chief -- Thu, 11-Jan-2018
When I was preparing to leave the UK, I contemplated packing breeches and riding boots. But my idea was quickly scuppered by reminding myself that firstly, I was going to NZ to work hard, save and travel, and secondly, horses are scarce in central Auckland, so there'd be no point.
I've ridden since I was small, and I've taught young riders since I was 15, at riding schools, and at pony clubs in the UK, America and Australia. Recently, I lost my little hunting pony, and I sold my youngster. This together with my extensive travels of late, has meant horses have not been a possibility. Occasionally, during weekends, I would visit my....

WHY ISN'T MY HORSE SELLING?
Chief -- Tue, 21-Nov-2017
Here are a few points to think about when advertising that may help attract the right buyer.
Keep the description of your horse in your advertisement reasonably brief, as you want to encourage people to engage in conversation with you. Talking to someone should make it much easier to understand better what is wanted and equally will allow you to give the right impression and more easily convey the true essence of your horse. Watch the wording and phrases you use in your written advertisement. For example, what does it even mean to say, ‘Needs a confident, capable rider?’ The connotation here is that....
