Midway Raven

16.2hh/12 year old TB x Stationbred mare by Stone River Tane.

We have owned Raven for five years, during which she has hunted with Pakuranga, and been to Central Otago and Mahia Hunt Weeks. She previously hunted with Taupo. Raven is a bold and honest jumper and goes over whatever is put in front of her. She wears a snaffle and doesn’t pull but she prefers to go and so needs someone like-minded.

On the ground, Raven is easy to catch, clip, worm and shoe. She can be protective around food however, so this needs to be managed if in shared paddocks. Raven has trekked, done cross country (which she loves) and been schooled on the flat. My daughter has show jumped her to 1.05m and she was previously competed to 1.15m. She enjoys forest and beach riding and is good around traffic.

Raven thrives when she has a job to do and would suit an experienced rider wanting a capable hunter.
