Takapoto Formaggio (“Cheese”) is an exciting 9-year-old showjumper with a bright future ahead. Currently competing successfully at 1.20m–1.30m, he is now stepping confidently towards 1.35m–1.40m classes.

Cheese is a quality horse with all the attributes to progress to Grand Prix level. He combines a classical jumping technique with a big, scopey stride, natural bravery, and plenty of power. His carefulness and athleticism make him a serious prospect for riders aiming at the top end of the sport.

Bred and produced by Takapoto Stables, he reflects the strength of his pedigree, by Check In II out of Argento. He has been professionally produced throughout his career and has been given the time and education to develop correctly.

On the ground, Cheese is straightforward and well-mannered. He has no vices and is easy to manage in all aspects — to shoe, clip, truck, hack, and for dental work. He loads confidently onto a truck and is improving well on a float. He travels well and settles easily at shows. Cheese has also been extensively hacked through forest, beach, and farmland and is an absolute pleasure to take out.

Under saddle, he is relaxed and rideable, with a sensible nature, and has been ridden and competed in a snaffle. As a horse with quality bloodlines, he does have presence and energy, and is therefore best suited to a confident and competent rider looking to develop a quality horse towards the top levels of the sport.
