Sheila has been a pleasure to own over the last 3 years and has brought much happiness to my riding while I’ve owned her. Sheila is a very easy going horse and isn’t your typical thoroughbred, she does not get fizzy and she keeps her weight on great. Sheila has a relaxed gelding type of nature. She is a horse that does not need to be worked every day and can have months off and will pick right back up from where you left off. Over the 3 years I’ve owned her I have gone hunting, show jumping and eventing as well as road and river rides, pony club and track work.
Sheila is good to clip, shoe, worm, snaffle mouth. Respects fences, self-loads on float or truck, hack with or without company, road ride past trucks and tractors no problem. Has never bucked, bolted or reared with me and doesn't bite.
I competed Sheila at 2018 Springston Trophy at 95cm where I had one rider rail and a clear cross country round with our team finishing 7th
In April 2019 I took Sheila to Ride To Time at Riccarton race track where I was able to walk, trot, canter and gallop her on the track, she was well behaved and nothing phased her.
2019 Springston Trophy I had a blast going double clear with a few time faults on cross country on my behalf, our team finished 7th again.
Recently I competed Sheila at Eventing Southland ODE in December 2020 doing 80cm, her first event in a year and we finished double clear on our dressage score of 37.9 penalties placing 3rd.
Sheila has done multiple events and almost always comes home with a double clear from 80cm - 105cm she has given me so much confidence. Her weak point is dressage but I have worked hard on improving it since buying her and she has come along way. I believe her 105cm eventing days are over but she will happily show jump up to 105cm.
Sheila is a very much loved horse in my family but some bills need to be paid and I know it’s time to share my fun mare with someone else, Sheila would make an awesome horse for any young rider or small adult wanting to compete or just farm ride but I know she would be an ideal horse for a child wanting to do their first Springston trophy at 80cm etc.
Sheila has a few minor health issues that do not affect her performance and I am happy to discuss more about it over the phone.
I love this mare very much and she will only be going to a five star home.
I have plenty of photos and videos and am happy to share them with anyone interested in buying.
