Hi just wondering if you could ler me know if a schoolmaster 15.3/16.2hh 15yrs been there done that sort of a horse comes through your books... my horse you recommended from ispyhorses is awesome but i think she would like to be with a teenager who wants to do stuff on her. Cheers

I do check on there, is there one in particular you think i should look at?.... she is a sweetheart so lovely she really does love to get around the arena jumping...and as she is only 10 maybe ahe would be better with someone else...equally i am happy to keep her until i find the exact horse... my trainer suggested I should sell her

I'd be extremely concerned about you selling her before you find another. And something to remember here is that no horse is ambitious. While they love having a job to do it matters not to them how big or how small. If her job is to teach you to ride and keep you safe then that's her job and she'll be very happy in it. Safety first. And do be aware that people sometimes give advice when they have ulterior motives - could be they want the cash kickback they'll get if they suggest another horse to you that you buy. Or they could well have someone who they'd loooooove to see on your horse and they'll be getting a finders fee. I have no idea if this is true in your case but be very careful. And you'll never have any idea of fees paid etc when you purchase a horse or sell your own through other people's contacts.
It's so hard but perhaps go with your heart and don't let anyone tell you what you MUST do. If you feel safe on your mare and she's doing 75% of what you always wanted then don't sell her. Because the further 25% will come in time. And 75% is almost impossible to find.

Xx thanks such sound advice....she is very safe and she is such a sweetie i havent had any issues with her what so ever...what i was also thinking was booking in a wee teenager to give her a good blat a couple of times a week so that she gets some variety in riding...i would like to get to jump her myself but i am a little way off that currently...she has quite a 'bouncy' canter and i figure i can get used to that..ill just have to ride better Like you say safety is paramount and she is indeed safe.

If it were me in a million years I would not sell her. Get a better more comfortable saddle! And she doesn't need too much blatting. She can do that in the paddock if she chooses and I'm betting she doesn't ever. It's not in her nature.

Oh you've really made me think. It's just people getting in your ear about what to do. Thanks for reminding me not to let this all escalate too quickly. I'm in two minds. But she is such an armchair and after my surgeries only a few months back safety is key. I agree re new saddle idea. Any suggestions?? Thx for being you xx youre absolutely right.🤗 For now I'll keep her!
