Fred (Sugarman) is the ultimate showjumper with the talent and heart to take you all the way up the levels. Fred was imported from Australia in 2017 and is being sold in his prime to make room in Elmo's team for some young ones. it will be a sad sale as Fred just continues to get better and better, and he has such an adorable and easy personality. His scope is endless and will carry you around safely no matter the height. Fred is a total winner that tries his heart out for you every time he jumps. He has had too many wins and placings to count from 1.20 to Grand Prix level but here are a few highlights: He has been Elmo's star Young Rider horse and has won and placed numerous times, he placed 4th in the Woodhill Grand Prix Feb 2019, he won the the FEI challenge in Taupo 2018. He won the 1.30 at HoY 2018, he won the Charity Speed class at the Waitemata World Cup show 2019, Last season he didn't take a single rail during the Dynavyte Teams Challenge where he competed over 3 competitions and 6 rounds at 1.30. He was used as a Team Horse for the winning Trans Tasman team 2019, where he was ridden in 6 rounds over 3 days by 3 different riders who had never ridden him before and he was the best performed horse out of the 8 team horses (he was ridden by Briar Burnett Grant, Oliver Croucher and Cameron Moffatt from Aussie). This weekend Fred won the 1.30 Speed class at Auckland Champs (Featured video). This is the 3rd cover he's won this year!!! Fred is also an absolute gentleman on the ground and around the stable. My 12 year old brother can even jump on him and canter around on the bit doing flying changes, He is very well schooled being bred and trained early on as a dressage horse. We have owned Fred for 3 seasons and he has always been 100% sound, he is a big tough healthy horse with good feet, and he is in great shape. Fred will be competed until sold and is available to view in Paremoremo Auckland or at shows most weekends. Strictly no leases, as if he is unsold he will remain part of our team. Fred is a windsucker (100% controlled by his collar) - when we bought him under the advice of coach John Cottle he laughed about the wind sucking and said 'what he does in his private life is his own business, I only care if he can jump!' And he sure can:) No other vices. Fred is a once in a lifetime horse with huge talent and heart, and as such we have priced him at the upper end of the $50K to $70K price range, however are negotiable to an exceptional home.
